Teacher Althea joined Woodland Park Co-op as a parent in 2017, and shifted to a teacher in 2019. She taught in the preschool program for many years, and now continues to join us for the summer program. Her teaching style is child-centered, focusing on respect for the child as a person, and play-focused with the understanding that children learn about their world and the people in it through play. She allows children to take the lead with their learning and gives them the space to do that while connecting with them in a way that meets them right where they are at any given time. She believes in providing an atmosphere that is varied, empowering and fun. We are so excited to have Teacher Althea as part of our Summer Team this year!
